Melinda Arthur, Artist in Oils
Botanicals and Organic Still Lifes

My canvases reflect a lifelong passion for all aspects of the garden in every season... from new buds to fallen leaves, fresh rain to old bones... as well as Native American inspired reverence for nature. I refer to my canvases as "Botanicals and Organic Still Lifes." I lay on lots of thin layers of semitransparent oil paint, known as the Venetian Method developed by the Van Eyck brothers in the 15th century. My objective is to explore the inner dimensions of nature's artwork and hopefully come to understand how it lives and dies, and in essence how it relates to the world at large. Contact me for info on purchasing original paintings, giclée fine art prints, or to commission something unique and original. Welcome to The Garden. It’s a Happy Place.
